Reseña para Carmen Nativa Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Vino Tinto producido por Vina Carmen en , Chile

Appearance: dark purple-red. Nose: very ‘Chilean nose’ with lovely ripe red and black fruits combined with tomato vine or savoury green aromas. This is not the greenness of unripe grapes; more a slightly minty or herbaceous nose. The oak here combines to give sweet spices too (a bit like a Christmas cake mix!). Palate: ripe fruit, medium-high chewy tannins, decent oak, lifting acidity and good length. Alcohol doesn’t seem too high either, even although it is above 14%. Conclusion: well-made Chilean Cabernet produced organically. French oak here; not sure what proportion is new, however. Very nice. Drink now to 2010.
