Appearance: medium-red purple, quite orange rim. Nose: very varietally pure: spicy red cherry fruit with a perfumed nose (floral, perhaps violets). Oak is well-integrated. Lasts well with aeration suggesting considerable complexity. Palate: lovely red cherry fruit, excellent high acidity, beautiful oak, quite coating low to medium tannins (not silky but still delicate), plus very good length. I didn’t even mention the alcohol in my notes (so it must be well-balanced!). Conclusion: a very impressive Pinot Noir. This should be good as it is the Reserve wine (and the asking price is $60), but I was impressed nonetheless. Drink now to 2012. 2006 was a good vintage for Pinot Noir, apparently, and this wine should certainly survive well.
