Reseña para Penfolds Koonunga Hill 1986
Vino Tinto producido por Penfolds en South Australia, Australia-
17 (en 20) by edwardragg Blogger de Vinos
Appearance: medium purple-red, marked orange rim. Nose: fading eucalyptus and mint first nose with some secondary aromas (mushroom, leather), but also definite mulberry and plummy fruit. With aeration, the wine took on a meaty note too. Palate: mellowed medium chewy tannins, the alcohol seems pretty warm (if only at 13%) as the fruit is fading, but there’s quite a bit of pronounced acidity and some complex flavours still there: lingering fruit, leather and game etc. Conclusion: fascinating to taste and see how this wine has stood up over the last 22 years! Drink now. Although this wine is getting past its best now, it’s really interesting to taste an older vintage.
